One FABULOUS day at KBP thanks to Southern Weddings magazine

We’ve held our tongues, secretly squealed together behind closed doors and smiled politely when we’d rather have been shouting from the rooftops. Not even a peep has escaped from the lips of anyone here. BUT TODAY WE CAN TALK!! We’re more than thrilled to announce (actually down-right giddy and flattered and packing up for ATL to celebrate as you read this now) that we’ve accomplished two dreams at once with our feature in this month’s Southern Weddings magazine. We LOVE this magazine. Yes, love. Not like or enjoy or look forward to it, but love. We definitely have a staff of dreamers and folks that like to dream big and look beyond what is simply the next, natural step. So, check out this cover (and the awesome spread we’ll be teasing y’all with next week) and read more on why we can’t stop doing cartwheels down the street.

REASON #1 WHY WE’RE THRILLED: We spent a better part of last year watching a day evolve into something special for our work family. Being a part of a wedding day is an honor for us, so watching the day of Josh + Aubrie’s wedding being planned and carefully orchestrated for maximum fun was something that meant a ton to our staff of friends. The anticipation was HUGE and man did that day deliver. Aubrie’s Deal or No Deal girls came from LA, Josh’s long-time buddies were by his side in matching black converse and The Oaks was cloaked in delicate yellow details that brought the perfect touch of sunshine to an afternoon that followed one morning of seriously yucky weather. A host of photographers and amazing vendors took on this day with a genuine love for these two and their life together, and the pictures show it (if we’re allowed to toot our own horn.) So, having all of the above for the world to see was a definite priority after all the official wedding day fun was had. It took a while to sort through the thousands of images, but the story the final selection told was a fun-filled, yellow-tinted, dancing and singing, hugs and kisses and happily-ever-after Southern day perfect for showcase in just one special place.

REASON #2 WHY WE’RE THRILLED: We love photography. You have no doubt heard the words “passion” and “art” and “inspiration” escape from our mouths before, but it’s hard to truly explain the energy that enters a room when lunch conversation turns to a new blog we saw with great ideas, a lighting idea from Josh or a special shoot we’re dying to orchestrate just to see the final product. We love and live photography, and because of these we spend many hours searching (and stalking) the work of other photographers and professionals that inspire us. One enormous and beautifully-done inspiration for us is the Southern Weddings blog (www.swsmag.net) and their newly-established print edition. It’s pages and pages of great detail shots, wonderful color and the best of the best at creating oh-so-stylish weddings are pulled together in one stunning package. How could we resist? Naturally, there wasn’t a better fit for a body of work we felt so strongly about as Josh + Aubrie’s wedding. In just six short days we’ll have stars in our eyes when the first copies of Southern Weddings’ most recent issue arrives with our work among the pages of such an awesome publication and  the work of some of our favorite fellow photographers who inspire us when we’re looking for something new to tackle or just need a burst of inspiration. Wouldn’t you be doing cartwheels too?

REASON #3 WHY WE’RE THRILLED: We have wonderful clients. You all are the reason we are here and have the opportunity and privilege to explore and practice something we do truly love each and every day. Your love and appreciation for our talents, invitations into your families and lives and partnership in creating beautiful images are encouragement enough to wake every day and work even harder at making our dreams come true. It’s not something we may acknowledge at every sounding off the alarm clock or every studio call, but those long, inspirational conversations over lunch are for and about creating timeless, soulful images for us all to be proud of showing off. Thanks for all you give to us as artists.
